Why engrave instead of paint or stick
Paint peels. Decals lift. Engraving doesn’t.
A vinyl decal or painted logo on a garage floor scuffs, fades, and peels under tires, salt, and shovels — usually within a season or two. An engraved logo is cut into the surface itself, so it wears the same as the floor around it.
Concrete engraving cuts a logo or design directly into a garage floor, driveway, or shop floor. Epoxy engraving does the same into an epoxy coating, so the design is part of the finish instead of sitting on top of it. Wood engraving brings the identical precision to signage and accent pieces, so the branding matches from the floor to the sign out front.

The equipment
A precision CNC engraver, not a stencil and a grinder.
We engrave with a precision CNC engraving system — a computer-controlled machine that converts your logo file into a precise, repeatable cut. No freehand work, no guessing at spacing, no two logos that look slightly different.
The same system engraves concrete, epoxy coatings, and wood, which is why we can put matching branding on a garage floor and a sign out front with the same clean result.
It goes well past floors and signs, too. The system also cuts into granite, natural stone, tile, and metal — so a monument, a metal plaque, or even a stone countertop is the same clean, repeatable engrave as a garage floor. Its bed engraves up to 24×36 inches at a time (extendable to 24×72 inches), so most jobs are done in a single setup.
It’s fully portable. We load the machine up and bring it to your garage, driveway, or shop — the machine comes to the job, not the other way around. That’s also why we can take this specific service further than our usual Central Alberta radius, out to Calgary and Edmonton.

JFK Surfaces was established October 1, 2018 by Fabien Joseph Quesnel and Kyla Peters. Engraving is the newest capability we’ve added — built on the same concrete, epoxy, and finish work we’ve been doing for years, not a separate side business.
Licensed. Insured. WCB covered. BBB accredited. If the floor underneath needs work first — a new pour, a repair, an epoxy coating — we handle that too, so the engraving goes into a surface built to last.

What Central Alberta homeowners ask us.
Do I have to bring anything to a shop, or does someone come to me?

We come to you. Our CNC engraving machine is fully portable, so we bring it directly to your garage, driveway, or shop and engrave in place — there's nothing to remove, transport, or drop off.
Do you only do concrete engraving in Central Alberta, or do you travel further?

Because the engraving machine is portable, this specific service travels further than our usual Central Alberta contracting radius — we take engraving jobs as far as Calgary and Edmonton, in addition to Red Deer and every town in between.
Does the logo have to go in when the concrete is freshly poured, or can you engrave concrete that's already down?

Both. On a new pour, we can work a logo or design into the floor during finishing — same timeline as any other pour, no extra visit. On concrete you've already got, we engrave directly into the cured slab. Either way you get a design proof to approve before anything touches the floor.
Will engraved concrete hold up to Alberta winters, salt, and snow removal?

Yes, sealed the same way we seal any decorative concrete — a quality sealer protects the engraved detail from freeze-thaw and road salt just like it protects a stamped pattern. We recommend re-sealing every 2-3 years on engraved work, and we'll tell you the schedule for your specific floor.
Can you engrave a logo into an epoxy garage floor coating?

Yes. If your garage or shop floor has (or is getting) an epoxy coating, we can engrave the logo or design into that finish so it's part of the floor, not a decal sitting on top of it that peels or scuffs off under vehicle traffic and hot tires.
What kind of logos or designs can you engrave?

Business logos, family names and monograms, sports team crests, house numbers and address markers, and custom borders or patterns. A clean vector file gives the sharpest result, but a clear photo or even a rough sketch of what you want is enough for us to build a proof from.
Do you engrave wood too, or just concrete?

Both. The same engraving work we do on garage floors and driveways, we also do on wood — signage, beams, and accent pieces — so a shop or garage can get matching branding on the floor and on a sign out front.
Can you engrave materials other than concrete, epoxy, and wood?
